Male Liposuction
Liposuction / fat transfer for men is a procedure that can help to reshape various areas of the body. A procedure also known as liposculpture or fat removal surgery, liposuction works to remove fatty deposits from beneath the skin’s surface to reduce the appearance of stubborn pinchable fat. When this process is also used as part of a fat transfer procedure, the extracted fatty deposits can be reintroduced into a different area of the body to create a fuller, and naturally bulkier look.
Liposuction can be used on areas including: under the chin, upper arms, chest, stomach, flanks, thighs and buttocks. For most of our male patients, fat transfer is then more often requested to help build-up the appearance of the chest, jawline and chin.

In-depth Procedure Information
The Consultation
A chiseled and sculpted appearance of the body is often a desired look for many men. Features that are often perceived as masculine traits can include a toned and muscular look of the body, with strong, defining facial features. Reshape & Restore recognise how this image of today’s male figure can be an important contribution to creating a positive outlook, as well as elevating self-confidence.
The consultation helps you to gain a full understanding of how the liposuction procedure is carried out – and fat transfer, if this is also recommended. All risks will be explained and you will be able to realise the results that can be reached. If you want the reassurance of speaking with past patients about how liposuction and / or fat transfer has been of benefit, Reshape & Restore can make this happen.
The Procedure
Liposuction uses a special device that is inserted into the skin through small specifically placed incisions. By moving the device around it helps to break up the fatty deposits, so they can be sucked out through the attached tube. The incisions are then closed using tiny stitches.
Fat transfer uses the patient’s own fatty deposits that have been extracted through the liposuction procedure. The fatty tissue will then need to be prepared before being reintroduced to the body. They are placed in a centrifuge machine, spinning the harvested fat at very high speeds in order to separate the fat from blood and other fluids. It can then be administered via an injection, into the chosen area.
Aftercare & Results
The recovery time from a liposuction procedure and / or fat transfer is relatively quick, compared to other surgical body contouring procedures. The treated areas will feel sore and swelling and bruising will appear. Pain relief can help to relieve any tenderness and a support garment will help with your healing.
The full results may take several weeks to develop and it is important to understand that in some cases a certain amount of transferred fat will be absorbed into the body.
Follow-up appointments will monitor your recovery and assess the success of your results. These procedures can provide long-term, if not permanent, results for contouring the face and body. Liposuction works to remove fat cells from the treated area, however the remaining cells (as well as the surrounding untreated areas) can still grow. Therefore, maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle will ensure your body holds on to your new and improved form.
FAQ's
Body contouring procedures for men are growing in popularity, as body image is proving to be just as important to our male patients, as it is with our female ones. A suitable candidate is one who wishes to remove stubborn areas of fat from the face or body, determined by their pinchable characteristic. A fat transfer procedure involves using the patient’s own fat stores to augment another area of the body, improving different areas of the face and body in varying ways. It is important to note that this procedure is only possible if the patient has sufficient fat deposits, to be extracted and then transferred.
Liposuction is a procedure that has been performed by surgeons, doctors and other aesthetic professionals for many years. The procedure has a safe and successful outcome when a trained and qualified practitioner carries it out, using their medical knowledge and expertise. Fat transfer reduces the risk of developing an allergy or being rejected by the body, as it uses its own resources. The safety guidelines for liposuction have recently been reviewed, and practitioners are now advised to ensure that the amount of fat that is extracted is limited to 3 litres.
Liposuction can cause swelling, bruising and sensitivity at the treatment site. Recovery time is fairly quick and it is likely that a full recovery will only take a couple of weeks. Small stitches will lead to some slight scarring, but as is the nature of scarring, this will fade and may go unnoticed.
Fat transfer can also cause some tenderness, as well as swelling and bruising. However, this should be fairly minor. The fatty tissue will need some time to settle and connect with the other tissues, with some reabsorption likely.
Reshape & Restore may offer you two consultations before going ahead with these procedures. These sessions are an important part of our service and are essential for you to gain a full understanding of what is involved. The information that is shared between you and your surgeon will be what helps you to prepare for surgery, and you can always contact the team should you have any concerns.
