Procedure — men
Male Thigh Lift / Reduction
When undergoing a thigh lift / reduction procedure the main aim is to decrease the size of heavy looking thighs, as well as to remove any sagging skin. The procedure involves the use of carefully placed incisions in order to get rid of excess fat and tissue from a portion of the thigh; creating a firmer, more youthful and toned look to the legs.
Factors, such as: ageing, genetics and weight gain can contribute to thick-set thighs as fatty deposits can settle in this area; often becoming difficult to shift. Weight loss and diminished elasticity in the skin can lead to loose skin developing on the legs. Whether excess fat, excess skin or a combination of both is present on the thighs, a man can find this not just aesthetically unattractive, but also of physical discomfort.

In-depth Procedure Information
The Consultation
Knowing what to expect before the procedure is carried out is important. This will all be explained during the consultation, along with the risks involved with surgery and any complications that may also arise.
Assessing your concerns through a thorough examination of the thighs will help your surgeon to make a recommendation of the type of approach that is needed, and a treatment plan will be put together in order to achieve the goal you want to reach. You will also be given the chance to speak with previous Reshape & Restore patients, who are willing to share their experiences with you.
The Procedure
A thigh lift / reduction procedure often requires an incision to be made on the inside of the thigh. The length of this incision will depend on the amount of skin and tissue that needs to be removed. A small amount of tissue may only require a small cut to be made near the groin. Whereas a more significant reduction or lift may need the incision to run along more of the inner thigh, extending from the groin, down towards the knee.
After the excess tissue has been extracted and excess skin cut away, the skin can be pulled together, creating the tightened and lifted effect that this procedure can produce.
Removal of fat is often assisted by liposuction during this procedure, with the reduction of excess skin helping to tighten and firm the thighs; completing the overall contouring of the legs.
Aftercare & Results
How you look after yourself following the procedure will help to determine the success of your healing and recovery. Before you leave the hospital you will be fully assessed and given some considerate aftercare advice. This may include: what pain relief you should use, when you can return to work, ensuring you avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting, caring for your wounds and whether or not you will need to wear a supportive surgical garment.
The treated area will be swollen and bruised for a few weeks after the procedure and you should wait for around 6 or 8 weeks to feel fully recovered. The end result may start to become noticeable around this time when you may see an improved reshaping of the legs becoming evident, with smoother, tighter, firmer and more naturally shaped thighs.
