Once the skin on the upper thighs has lost its elasticity and become slack, the only real solution is surgery. A thigh lift is a cosmetic procedure that restores a firmer and more youthful appearance to the upper leg by removing excess skin.

The thigh lift is a popular cosmetic procedure at our highly regarded cosmetic surgery clinic in Worcester. The clinic is based in the prestigious Spire Bank South Hospital where we offer a comprehensive range of plastic surgeries for the face and body, including a similar procedure to improve the appearance of the upper arms.

What happens during thigh surgery?

Plastic surgeons can create a firmer, more contoured thigh area in two ways.

Medial Thigh Lift

This technique is used to improve the appearance of the inner thigh down to the inner knee

Your surgeon will make a discreet incision in the groin crease, through which fat cells will be removed with liposuction. The underlying tissues will be remodelled, and excess skin will be trimmed to create a more contoured and taut appearance.

Lateral Thigh Lift Surgery

This type of surgery allows the surgeon to create a smoother side profile for your upper leg area.

The lateral lift is often the technique of choice when there is a large amount of tissue and loose skin to remove. It can also be used to improve the appearance of the buttocks. In this case, the incision is made at the top of the outer thigh.

Your surgeon will decide upon the best type of surgery for you after assessing your case and discussing your motivation for considering surgery.

Thigh lift surgery is performed under general anaesthesia and requires an overnight stay at the South Bank Hospital in Worcester.
