What happens during lipo for excess body fat removal in Worcester?

Liposuction surgery is a minimally invasive procedure that is usually performed under general anaesthetic.

Your surgeon will insert fine metal tubes under your skin in the area of stubborn fat. A vacuum-powered pump will then be used to break up and remove the fat cells. Depending on the size of the treatment area, this process may be repeated multiple times.

What is the difference between wet liposuction and dry liposuction?

At Reshape and Restore in Worcester, we don’t believe that one size fits all, so we tailor all our procedures to provide the best solution for each patient and their body.

Your liposuction procedure may involve dry liposuction which simply involves the suction of fat cells from under your skin. If your surgeon thinks it is appropriate they may use the wet liposuction technique which involves injecting a solution that loosens and liquifies the fat cells.

Your surgeon will advise on the best way to achieve great results for you at your initial consultation.

Am I a good candidate for body contouring with liposuction at Reshape and Restore in Worcester?

Liposuction WorcesterAll our patients have at least two consultations before they commit to liposuction surgery.

We take a full medical history and assess our patients thoroughly before recommending liposuction.

We are always very honest with our patients about what can be achieved with liposuction surgery. If we think that a different procedure would give you better results, then we may recommend an alternative for you.

At Reshape and Restore in Worcester we believe that it is essential for patients to feel completely confident before any surgery so we make time to discuss the procedure thoroughly and give you all the information you need before you commit to liposuction.

Is liposuction painful?

Your procedure will be performed under general anaesthetic so you will not feel any pain.

The treated area will be bruised and tender after your procedure but most of our Worcester patients find that simple pain relief is sufficient to ease any discomfort.

How much downtime will I need after fat removal surgery at Reshape and Restore in Worcester?

Most patients find it helpful to book one to two weeks off work after liposuction. Rest will be important as it encourages healing. We advise lipo patients to refrain from strenuous activity for up to three months.

You will need to wear a compression garment after surgery to reduce scarring and support your tissues.

Is liposuction surgery good for weight loss?

Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure. It is a surgical intervention to remove fat from specific areas, including the upper arms, tummy, hips and thighs, that have proved resistant to the effects of a good diet and regular exercise. In fact, we see the best results in patients of a healthy weight who have pockets of fat that they just can’t budge with lifestyle changes.

Will I see a difference immediately after liposuction?

It may take a few months for the swelling to disappear completely as the rate of healing depends on the extent of the liposuction and your body’s own response to surgery.

Once the swelling has reduced, you will be able to see that your bodily contours are sleeker and more contoured. Your clothes will fit better and your confidence will soar.

Is liposuction permanent?

The fat cells that are removed during liposuction cannot grow again, but enough cells will have been left behind to allow your size to increase again if you neglect your diet and exercise regime.
