Your consultations before breast enhancement surgery in Bristol.

Mr Chapman and Mr Khan’s patients always have two consultations before making the decision to commit to breast augmentation.

The initial consultation will involve an assessment and a full medical history to ensure that you are physically fit enough to undergo surgery.

You will also discuss the type of breast implant to be used. Breast implants come in different shapes and sizes. Some women prefer round implants whilst others choose anatomical implants that look more like a natural breast. It is important to choose an implant that complements your body shape.

Your second consultation will take place once you have had time to think about what you have been told and will be an opportunity to ask Mr Khan and Mr Chapman any remaining questions that you may have.

What happens during breast augmentation surgery with breast implants?

The procedure is straightforward. It usually takes about one and a half hours and is performed under general anaesthetic.

Your surgeon will insert the breast implant through an incision in the crease below your breast. The implant may be placed under the chest muscle in the submuscular pocket or in the subglandular pocket behind your existing breast tissue. Your surgeon will choose the technique that will give you the best results and this will be discussed with you during your first consultation.

How long does it take to recover from breast enlargement surgery at the Bristol clinic?

You will stay in the Spire Bristol Hospital overnight after your breast augmentation. Most patients are able to return home the next day after being checked by their surgeon and prescribed pain medication. It will be necessary for you to wear a support bra for the first few weeks to protect the surgery area.

It is advisable to take time off work and to avoid vigorous activity for several weeks after breast augmentation. Most women find that they feel fully recovered after about eight weeks.

Mr Khan and Mr Chapman like to have regular follow-up appointments with their Bristol patients until healing is complete.

What will my breasts look like after augmentation?

After breast enlargement surgery your breasts will look firmer and larger than before.

The breast volume and shape that had been lost after weight loss or menopause will have been restored.

If your issue was asymmetrical breasts, then your breasts will now be as equal in shape and size as possible bearing in mind that perfect symmetry is never found in Nature

Most of our Bristol patients describe a significant increase in body confidence after breast enlargement surgery.

Are there any risks associated with breast implant surgery?

All surgery carries risks of bleeding, bruising and infection but breast enlargement surgery does carry some specific problems.

Women who have undergone implant surgery where low-quality implants were used, may be at risk of implant rupture or implant displacement.

Some patients develop a condition called capsular contracture in which the body reacts to the implant by creating excess scar tissue.

Both issues will require further surgery.

All these risks can be mitigated by choosing excellent plastic and breast surgeons like Mr Khan or Mr Chapman who only ever use premium quality breast implants.

How much does breast enlargement cost at Reshape & Restore in Bristol?

The cost of this procedure begins at £5 600.
