What are the benefits of a boob job?
Many patients contact us because they feel self-conscious about their breasts. We can reassure them that this straightforward procedure can improve body image and boost self-confidence.
The benefits of breast augmentation include the following:
Increased cup size
Breast enlargement surgery is an excellent solution for women who are dissatisfied with the small size of their breasts. The insertion of breast implants can increase the size of the breasts to achieve the figure that the woman has always wanted.
A fuller shape
Many women find that their breasts lose firmness and shape after pregnancy and breastfeeding. This can also be a consequence of natural ageing. Breast enlargement surgery can restore volume and a more youthful shape to the breasts.
Correction of breast asymmetry
Asymmetrical breasts are common, but sometimes the disparity in size is so marked that it causes acute embarrassment and distress. Our surgical team often performs surgery on one breast with the insertion of a breast implant to make each breast the same size.

Am I a good candidate for breast augmentation in Bristol?
If your dissatisfaction with the size and shape of your breasts affects your self-esteem and well-being, you may be a good candidate for a boob job.
Cosmetic surgery is a personal decision, and Mr Chapman and Mr Khan always give their patients all the information and time they need to make up their minds.
You will have two consultations before committing to breast augmentation.
Your first consultation will include an examination and a discussion of your medical history and general health to make sure that you are fit enough to have surgery.
Your surgeon will explain the procedure in detail and advise you on the best size and shape of implant to complement your body size and create your ideal figure.
Once you have had time to consider everything you have heard, you will have a second consultation where you can ask more questions and commit to surgery if you feel ready.
What happens during surgery with breast implants?
A couple of techniques can be used during this surgical procedure, and your surgeon will discuss which one will give you the best results during your consultations.
Each breast implant is inserted into an incision in the crease under your breast.
Sometimes, the implant is positioned under the chest muscle in the submuscular pocket. Alternatively, your surgeon may place it in the sub-glandular pocket behind your breast tissue.
Breast augmentation is a straightforward procedure. It is performed under a general anaesthetic and lasts around one and a half hours.
How long is the recovery time after a breast enlargement at the Bristol clinic?
Most of our Bristol patients leave the Spire Hospital the day after their breast augmentation surgery. You will be swollen and uncomfortable but this will be controlled with pain medication.
All patients need to wear a support garment for the first few weeks. Although not glamorous, your support garment will be doing an important job, supporting and protecting your healing breasts.
Mr Chapman and Mr Khan advise patients to take a couple of weeks off work and to avoid strenuous activity or exercise for several weeks after breast enlargement.
Aftercare is a priority at Reshape and Restore and you will return to the clinic for regular checkups until you are completely healed.
Are there any potential risks with a boob job?
Every surgical procedure involves the risk of bleeding, bruising and infection, but surgery with breast implants carries some specific risks, which your surgeon will explain in detail before your operation.
Occasionally, women who have had breast augmentation surgery suffer implant rupture or implant displacement.
The procedure also carries a risk of capsular contracture when the body reacts to the implant as to a foreign body, creating a ‘capsule’ of scar tissue around it.
The risk of these complications is highest when poor-quality breast implants have been used.
The team at Reshape and Restore only use the highest-quality implants, and the expertise of our surgeons and the quality of our post-operative care make any complications highly unlikely.
The cost of breast augmentation in Bristol
Prices start at £5 800 which includes anaesthetic fees.
However, this is an indicative price only. The cost of your surgery will be confirmed before your breast enlargement and after you have discussed your procedure with your surgeon.
